I love the lessons I absorbed from Herman Raymond. #1) Let the water to work for you.........Move it, lift it ,let it be. I can coax it to move in areas on my paper, yet it is always a suprise at the final drying spot when the colors blur together to create an unexpected event, a happening.
Water is the source of life. We come from it in our mothers wombs, We use it to drink, bathe, swim, play, clean, wash, soak, cool, warm... to listen to the earth, through its powerful release down a mountainside. To stand in a rainfall to hear the fat juicy splats, or walk in the dewy morning grass when it is cold on your feet waking you up to a fresh new page to paint on. Have you ever noticed when the city turns off the water in your area, you are instantly thirsty for nothing else but water? No drink on earth compares.
I am sure its waters magical qualities, that has drawn my interest into the powers of watercolor. I am mesmerized when I am in front of a piece of paper, and begin another project. I urge all artists to at least try it and see for themselves.

This pisces loves water too. I think that when I finally have a home to decorate it will be in all blues and greens. I'm drawn to those colors like...well, like a fish to water. I love your paintings!
