Sharecroppers Pinot Noir

Donna and David joined us for dinner a while back and we could not have had a better time. Don was particularly chatty as was Donna and they were both charming. David was pensive, due to his upcoming surgery. I wish him well, and plan on giving them a little artist trading card of the Sharcroppers pinot noir they sent us. Whew, the gifting continues. They are a dear couple and I do hope we will get together again.

Ballet

Ballet has always interested me, especially at Christmas with the Nutcracker ballet. Annie is quite the ballerina according to mom. I painted these for her .

Tigers are wild

Alexis asked me to paint her a picture of a cat, and then changed it to a tiger. She said ROAR! So, this is what she is getting for Christmas. I also painted a Giraffe for Amanda. I do hope they like it. It is not like getting a toy or something. I do love those children, and I do love to paint. Seems like a win win situation!

Waitaha Penguins New Zealand

This is a newly discovered penguin long thought to be extinct. I would not have known about it except my young nephew Hunter is very interested in penguins. I painted it for him.

Holidays are fast approaching

November is beautiful this year and even a bit warm which is unusual for Colorado. We just had help planting some shrubs from Switzer landscaping and am excited to light them . Putting together a little art display and small workshop to create wreaths with a bit of impish humor at Daniels Chevrolet. Should go well. Planning is key to success. Lots of projects in the works. Thank goodness! Small painting of some ancient rooftops and the donation raised quite a bit of money for the Cheyenne Mountain School Lead Program, and heard it was worth it! So excited this week will pick up some small wine paintings at the framers and will put them in the art show. Planning on putting in the decorations in two private homes and the hospice this year. Probably will assist on other projects and finished the photo shoot for the CMR booklet. Yes, I am a busy woman.

Texas

Fun was had in Texas, and yes it is a big state. I flew in and then got to fly! Seriously, one of Andrea and Josh's friends let me sit in a SIM and I got to fly a T38! Can't believe how lucky I was to have that experience. The beginning was simply too much to take in, but with careful guidance I was able to take off, get some air and then do a roll. This was the fun part. Landing was not the easiest and I believe "bounce" would be my call sign if I had one. I was appreciative of the hours of work that they dedicate to the safety of our homeland security.

They are here!

Andrea and Gavin are here and we are so happy to see them. We have been playing and exploring and opening every drawer and it is delightful. What a wonder to see the world through his eyes. I am head over heels. How lucky to see our family grow. They are here and I am so glad. Horray!

Mothers Day

Mothers Day was perfect. Seth and Andrea called and wished me a happy day and Don , Jeana, Sawyer and Max visited. We played in the yard and the sun was shining and it was delightful. Corinne had two dear presents out on the table when I awoke. Clay created Mom's Guacamole Poem with chips and guac and helped me plant 3 forsythia bushes with a brick border. I planted pots of flowers for our moms and Don and I delivered them with time for a visit. Breakfast and Dinner were created and served with friends and love. Andrea and Gavin will be here tomorrow! They sent me the cutest pictures of sweet Gavin and a delightful card! All in all, it could not have been a better day. I am a lucky woman to have such a showering of love.

"Class Dismissed"

Spring flower design class is over, but there are plans in the works for fall. Everyone wants to explore Ikebana design, so of course I too am excited. It should be a blast sharing all the lessons that Eleanor shared with me. Well, a couple of students brought in wine and cheese and crackers to celebrate another 12 weeks, and I left them with the cutest leopard covered petite chairs with a big fat chocolate truffle from the world famous Patsy's candies. They went over big! So, hate to see it over, but the wedding designs that we have been selling will keep us busy all summer. Class dismissed............for now anyway!

Lighthouses and Horses

So enjoyed creating a minature painting of Portland Head Lighthouse , decided to post it. It is a charming lighthouse in Portland Maine. I also created a minature for mom for her birthday. She loved it, and I loved painting it. She has a dear statue of a Ming Dynasty horse. The painting looks a great deal like it.

First Class

Our first class was a success. The students were so excited to be back in class, as was I. Enjoyment was had by all. Floral design is a must for both the skills and the psyche. We used vibrant pink lillies, screaming yellow roses and the most devine purple iris and the sweetest pink tulips that are continuing to open............It truly was first class!

Spring in our step!

I am excited because our flower design class is tomorrow, and have I plans for my students. We are going to do a color explosion. This is really needed this time of year when it is oh so barren and dull outdoors. Spring colors are generally muted, but I am up for a color explosion! Vibrant pink lillies, yellow roses and the most amazing purple iris that take the design to another level! I am seriously committed to kicking off the class with a blast of color. It will put a spring in our step sharing the joy of flowers !
